I have been saved by grace simply through believing that Christ died for me. (Ephesians 2:8-9)
I must admit that I struggled much in my early faith walk to comprehend the difference between mercy and grace!
- Mercy: Outward manifestation of pity; assumes a need/a plea for help by the asker; a disposition to forgive
- Grace: Endued with divine favor; that which bestows pleasure, delight, or causes favorable regard; love and favor of God toward man
- Mercy – not getting what I deserve
- Grace – getting what I don’t deserve
God’s Riches At Christ’s Expense
I rest there, humbled and joyful, arms around His neck, face on His shoulder, and thankfully receive His sanctuaried peace and grace.
