Word & Worship – Simple Gospel

Today we take time to reflect on a precious verse and a beautiful song.   We call it Word & Worship.

God’s Love is unconditional and unforced. The choice is ours to embrace or reject it.

“neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

‭‭Romans‬ ‭8:39‬ ‭NIV‬‬

The gospel truly is so simple, yet we, as flawed humans, overcomplicate it. We make it harder than it has to be, believing there’s something we need to do to earn or be worthy of God’s love, when in fact we already have it. It’s right there in front of us, offered and ready for us to accept it.

Romans 8 begins with affirming that there is no condemnation for those in Christ, and ends with the confirmation that absolutely nothing can separate us from the free gift of His unfailing love. Its there, in black and white, in the gospel for everyone to read and receive. We must choose to accept it in order to experience it, and know Him as a friend.

OUR WORSHIP for TODAY:  Simple Gospel – United Pursuit

Choose today to accept His deep affection for you as you worship with us. The lyrics and message of this song is as simple as the truth of which they reflect. Be blessed.

I want to know you, Lord

Like I know a friend

So I’m laying down all my religion

I want to know you, Lord

I use to think that I could box you in

But I’m laying down

I want to know you, Lord

Lord, I’ve been told to be ashamed

Lord, I’ve been told I don’t measure up

Lord, I’ve been told I’m not good enough

But you’re here with me

I reach out and you find me in the dust

You say no amount of untruths can separate us

I will rejoice in the simple gospel

I will rejoice in you, Lord
