Word & Worship – I Know

Today we take time to reflect on a precious verse and a beautiful song.   We call it Word & Worship.

In the midst of uncertainty, we can trust Him to keep His promises to see us through it.

Let all that I am wait quietly before God, for my hope is in him. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress where I will not be shaken.”

Psalms‬ ‭62:5-6‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Moses stood on the shore of the Red Sea, having just led His people out of Egypt as God called him to. Pharaoh, having changed his mind, was closing in on them now with a mass army charging. And Moses, undoubtedly, had to be getting nervous. Who wouldn’t?

He had no idea what was going to happen; no idea how God was going to come through. I’d be willing to bet that a part of him questioned if He would come through. Nevertheless, he stood firm, refusing to give into doubt, and instead chose to trust that because God called him to this, He would keep His promise to deliver them safely.

There is a call on each of our lives. Should we choose to step into it, we can expect that we will be met with question marks and seemingly impossible circumstances. Circumstances that can instill fear or doubt, leaving us to wonder how it’s going to work. It’s in that moment we can either give into our doubts or stand firm in our position, choosing to trust God to show up without knowing how, because He’s the one who called is to it.

God calls ordinary people to do extraordinary things, without giving all the details of how. It requires obedience, faith, trust and a surrendered heart for the Master’s use in order for us to accomplish the extraordinary. Because that’s the only way we can.

OUR WORSHIP for TODAY:  I KnowKim Walker-Smith

Whatever the circumstance is before you that’s requiring blind faith; we encourage you to stand firm as we’re called to do so. Trust that He will come through and make a way where there is none. We pray this song renews your strength to stand, as you worship with us today.

I will trust in what I cannot see

I wait for You, I wait for You

You can part the violent sea

You can reach the depths of me!

I know, nothing is impossible

I know, every chain is breakable

I know, on Christ the solid rock I stand

I am waiting at the water’s edge

Holding steadfast onto Your promises

Even though I’m not there yet

I trust in You, I trust in You

  1. Thank you, Heather, for this post. I choose to stand firm, trusting God, being sure that nothing is impossible with God. The song was so refreshing.
