God’s Got This

Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself… –Matthew 6:34

Is something troubling you? Have  taken that something to God in prayer? Perhaps you have and you’re waiting on God to respond. Or you’re doubting that He’ll come through and you’re looking for the exit sign. Let me assure you, God will supply all your needsyou just need a mustard-seed-size faith (Matthew 17:20).

He is the provider. He really means for us not to worry. He doesn’t want us worrying about what we eat, drink, or wear. Matthew 6:33 says, But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Notice the phrase “all you need” — not some, not much, not most of what we need, but all of our needs. What a promise from our Heavenly Father that He will give us everything we need!He provides for us the same way. He provides for the birds of the air and the flowers in the fields (Matthew 6:25-34). If God gives such attention to the smallest of creatures and the appearance of lilies, don’t you think He’ll take care of us in the same way?

So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God.  I will strengthen you and help you;I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.       Isaiah 41:10

I take comfort in knowing God is with me and He knows what I need, but it’s not always easy to lay it at His feet and not worry. I am only human. So what did I do? I worried for a brief moment, then gave my worries to God. I could not handle one more thing on my plate. My plate was consumed with cancer, and the last thing I needed to worry about was money.

I was worried that I would not have enough days to cover my medical leave. It’s been over a year now, and although I’m not back at work yet, I have had enough days donated to me that I haven’t missed a paycheck.  I am blessed to work and be a part of an amazing school system. They came through for me in a big way, and I will always be grateful to each and every one of them.

“But my God shall supply all your needs according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:19

Our God answers prayers and delights in providing for His children. Whether it is food, clothing, a new car, or a job promotion, go to God with all your needs. No matter how big or small, He’s already taken care of it.
