You took your issue to God just like you have done so many times before. After praying through out the day, your prayer goes unanswered.
Weeks later, still no response. So you pray again to God for clarification on deciding to break out in your own in business.
Or, maybe your child has fallen off the track. Or, a loved one has received a bad report from the doctor.
Three weeks later, still no answer. No change. No healing.
At this point you are like, “Hello, are you there God?”
Then your friend calls you about her blessing. Her breakthrough. You want to be happy for her, but your heart is hurting. You begin to question God’s presence in your own life. Maybe I am not praying right. Maybe my past is finally catching up with me.
My friend, we have all been there. That’s the enemy’s game. The enemy wants us to think we are alone. That we are not worthy. That God does not care. This attack on our mind and spirit requires us to fight back. How? We run. We endure. We persist.
How do you run without strength?
We run with supernatural strength.
He gives strength to the weary and increase the power of the weak-Isaiah 40:29.
How do you endure when your faith is dwindle?
We believe his promises.
You press toward the goal of the prize of upward call of God in Jesus Christ–Philippians 3:14.
How do you persist when it looks like your breakthrough is not coming?
You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised-Hebrews 10:36.
The enemy schemes to take us out. He wants us to give up on the One who is the truth, the way and the light. Our God is not a God who judges or condemns us. Our God gives us hope. Our God gives us strength. Our God provides for us. It is at times like this we need to put our battle gear.
Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
We can preserve in the battle that lies before us. We can stand on the promises of our God. We lift our shield for protection as the enemy attacks. We fight with our sword –
Do not fear them, for the Lord your God is the one fighting for you- Deuteronomy 3:22.
We persevere because we are blessed when we do.
Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him-James 1:12.
I want my crown! Don’t you?
