Word & Worship – Awakening

Today we take time to reflect on a precious verse and a beautiful song.   We call it Word & Worship.

We are called to rise up and shine the light of Jesus.

“for the light makes everything visible. This is why it is said, “Awake, O sleeper, rise up from the dead, and Christ will give you light.””  ‭Ephesians‬ ‭5:14‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Yesterday we concluded the 21 Days of Prayer following the third week of Prayer focusing on intercession for our family, friends, our city, state, nation, world, those in authority and of course the lost.  This world is in need of revival; an awakening of the spirit in the hearts of mankind so that we would rise up and extinguish the darkness that veils the truth of God.  This Awakening starts with us interceding in prayer on behalf of the lost, having the boldness to minister to the spiritually dead, and pursuing Jesus with intentionality.  He is the light that exposes all things shadowed, and because we are new creations in Christ upon receiving salvation, His light dwells within us.  Meaning, Jesus wields that light through those who are willing to step out in faith and confidence to shine in the dark places.  Choose today to shine your light, and awake the dead.

OUR WORSHIP for TODAY:  Awakening – Chris Tomlin

We pray your spirt is awakened and stirred as these lyrics penetrate your heart.  Let them ignite the desire to rise up within you and radiate the light of Christ in every dark place you encounter.  Blessings on you today, in Jesus’ name!

In our hearts, Lord, in this nation
Holy Spirit, we desire

For You and You alone
Awake my soul, awake my soul and sing
For the world You love
Your will be done, let Your will be done in me
