Breath Day January 20, 2018

With a loud cry, Jesus breathed his last. (Mark 15:37)

“The End.”  The movie was over, leaving questions behind in the viewers’ minds.  That’s it? they asked one another. That’s the end? They need to make a sequel to this! I need to see what happened next!

The end of Jesus’ story was not the real end. What happened next? After crying out his last words — “It is finished!” — his final exhaled breath became, for believers, the breath of new life.  The holy breath they inhaled ushered resurrection life into those who were once entombed in their sin. Their stories were just beginning. Those who had been trudging through “dead” lives began living like never before!

Inhale deeply.  Let the Breath of Life revive and inhabit your praises.

“It’s your breath in our lungs, so we pour out our praise, we pour out our praise …”
