I Am New

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things have become new. – 2 Corinthians 5:17

Spiritual transformation happens when you become a Christian or a new creature. The transformation could be compared to the renovation of an old house or restoring an old car, both which take the replacement of old things with the replacement of new things.

A house may need new wiring, new floors, and updated appliances. A car may need a new engine, rusty floorboards replaced, and a totally new interior.  Regardless, the old is wiped clean and replaced with a more sturdy foundation and brand new you.

The Spirit of God can accomplish a renewal for all of us who believe in Jesus Christ, giving us a new lease on life and a renewal of spirit, mind, and heart.

Would you love to have a fresh start in your Christian life?  You may feel you have made so many mistakes, you have failed God and He doesn’t want anything to do with you.

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. –John 10:10

We’ve all experienced setbacks and failures at some point in our life, made some bad decisions that keep us from doing those things.

How many of us have said, “ I am going to grow more in my relationship with God.  I am going to pray more, read my Bible more and get more involved in church. I’m going to spend more quality time with my family”?  I bet most of us have.

But the devil has a way of reminding us of our past mistakes and keeps us from enjoying the life God has for us. He uses our thoughts and words against us using them to his benefit. No good comes from listening to a liar and a master manipulator.

“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past.– Isaiah 43:18

So how does one bring about this spiritual transformation? You confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus Christ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, and you shall be saved.  And if you want to change your circumstances you’re going to need an abundance of trust and faith to complete the brand new you. God has given you a clean state. What are you going to do with it?

For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more. –Hebrews 8:12

God’s glory is resurrected in you. He is part of your life and every day He intercedes on your behalf. He takes the old self and replaces it with unlimited potential and opportunities that you didn’t think were possible.

He is not concerned about who you once were but who you are with Him. My friends, you have been washed with the blood of the lamb! Amen!

Because you are what God says that you are!  You are enough!
