I have experienced divine healing on more than one occasion. A couple of times I shared “my story” on this blog. The truth is you have been healed, too! Divine healing! Don’t your remember?
Early one morning last week my cell phone buzzed alerting me of a text message waiting. Our typical morning is that we are up drinking coffee before 5:00. I reached for my phone and on the home page was the preview indicating it was from a group text that I have been in for a few months now. It was started by a friend asking us to pray for her as she walked through the daily challenges of caring for her elderly father. Several times a week or a day, depending on her needs, she would shoot us a text asking us to pray…for Peace, then Grace and finally Mercy. We would text back words of encouragement, scripture and prayers. But her Dad had gone to be with Jesus several weeks earlier. What was this text about?
“Good morning ladies. Please keep Wanda in your prayers. She has had…
Opening the text, it continued: “Good morning ladies. Please keep Wanda in your prayers. She has had a heart attack sometime during the night. She is still in the ER downtown waiting on an inpatient bed. Expecting to have further tests sometime today.”
The immediate responses, in rapid succession, for the most part read simply: Praying now! And pray we did!
Heart attack? How could this happen? We were all way too young for this! But that was the report the doctors were giving.
I began to pray through all the healing scriptures I could recall. Having walked through cancer, I had committed many to memory for that season.
Heal me, LORD, and I will be healed; save me and I will be saved, for you are the one I praise. Jeremiah 17:14
“Go,” said Jesus, “your faith has healed you.” Immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus along the road. Mark 10:52
Hearing this, Jesus said to Jairus, “Don’t be afraid; just believe, and she will be healed.” Luke 8:50
By noon they could not find anything wrong with my friend. The tests all came back normal. What was going on?
I chose to believe that God had answered our prayers. He had healed her.
That night I climbed in bed and began praying as I began to drift off to sleep. I remember thinking, This is a perfect intro to my “I Am Healed” blog post! But before sleep came, I kept thinking about the verse from Jeremiah, “Heal me, LORD, and I will be healed; save me and I will be saved, for you are the one I praise.”
God heals and we are healed. God saves and we are saved! Praise The Lord!
Isn’t salvation the biggest healing we receive? When I think back on my life before Jesus, I was broken and in dire need of a savior. Nothing in my life was right. At my invitation, Jesus came in and healed my brokenness. It was the most wonderful thing that has ever happened to me. I think back on that time and remember a fresh and clean feeling that only came when the Son set me free.
So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed. John 8:36
Healed! Healed from my past. Healed from my sin. Healed from a life of waste. God has a plan for my life.
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11
Do you remember your healing? …your salvation healing? When you gave God your brokenness and He gave you a relationship with Jesus and then the Holy Spirit, never to be the same again?
Healing is available to all. Jesus says:
Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me. Revelation 3:20
Because you are what God says that you are! He loves you and wants a relationship with you.
IF you’ve never experienced this kind of healing, it is available. Jesus waits for you to open the door to your heart and welcome Him into your life.
In your own words; invite Him to be a part of your life. You will never be the same.
