“My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me; and I give eternal life to them, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand.
“My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand. “I and the Father are one.” John 10:27 -28
Why does He call us SHEEP? (The Bible makes reference to sheep no less than 220 times). One of the more notable passages is the 23rd Psalm.
There are many references to His People being sheep. So why not something more powerful, like a ram or lion? Why not something more graceful and valued, like a dove? Well, God chose to use the word sheep to identify His followers, as we are “His sheep.” Our shepherd, Jesus, is leading us.
If you study the relationship between a shepherd and his sheep it is a beautiful picture of the relationship that Jesus wants with us.
Listen for his voice. Follow Him. No one can take you out of His hand.
Because you are what God says that you are! You are enough!
