At Breath on Paper we believe that memorizing scripture is one of the best ways to get the Word of God in our hearts.
Today we have chosen a verse that reminds us of God’s promise to be our refuge.
God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea. Psalm 46:1-2
What is your refuge?
Refuge: a condition of being safe or sheltered from pursuit, danger, or trouble.
When the world hits you hard, what is your go-to? For some it’s food; yet others it’s shopping. Maybe your refuge is to call a friend and vent. Do any of these really help?
This verse promises that we don’t have to fear — even if the earth begins to crumble and the mountains fall in the sea. Just the thought of either of these actually happening would certainly bring fear. But it doesn’t have to.
We have an ever-present help in ANY trouble…even when it seems our world is crumbling.
By making God your refuge.
Choose ahead of time to make God your go-to the next time fear rises up to reek havoc. He is your strength and help. Call on Him.Because…you ARE all that God says that you are. He is your Refuge.
