Word & Worship – Different

Today we take time to reflect on a precious verse and a beautiful song.   We call it Word & Worship.

OUR WORD for TODAY:

We are not only called to be different, but chosen to be different.

“But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.”  ‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭2:9‬ ‭

So much of the time we as people are working to “fit in” with the crowd; working to look and act like everyone else.  Being different doesn’t seem to be so appealing in a world where diversity is chastised and rejected.  BUT we need to grasp the fact that we as children of God were chosen, created and designed to be different; to stand apart from the crowd, to shine for His glory. We should desire to stand out, not blend in.

OUR WORSHIP for TODAY: Different – Micah Tyler

What an honor it is to be chosen and set apart by our Heavenly Father; to be called His children and reflect His love to a lost world.  We pray this song ignites a fire within you to stand up and be proudly set apart, to be different for the sake of the Lord.  Be blessed.

I dont wanna spend my life, stuck in a pattern

I don’t wanna gain this world but lose what matters

So I’m giving up, everything because

I wanna be different

I wanna be changed

‘Til all of me is gone

And all that remains

Is a fire so bright

The whole world can see

That there’s something different

So come and be different in me
