Word & Worship – Mercy

This semester we will be writing on words of the Spirit each week and will begin each week with a Word & Worship inspired by the Word of the Week.  We hope you join us each day and enjoy the messages God has laid upon our hearts to share with you.

This week’s word is MERCY.

Today we take time to reflect on a precious verse and a beautiful song.                                                               We call it Word & Worship.

OUR WORD for the week:    MERCY

Jesus is MERCY.

“All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is by his great mercy that we have been born again, because God raised Jesus Christ from the dead. Now we live with great expectation, and we have a priceless inheritance—an inheritance that is kept in heaven for you, pure and undefiled, beyond the reach of change and decay.”  ‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭1:3-4‬ ‭NLT‬‬

If grace is getting what you don’t deserve, then MERCY is NOT getting what you deserve. Jesus took our place and paid our debt so we could have salvation and the hope of heaven. Try as we might, we will never fully comprehend the magnitude of his precious sacrifice. Let us praise the Lord for his great mercy.

OUR WORSHIP for TODAY:  Mercy – Amanda Cook

We encourage you to let the lyrics of this song set your soul on fire as they stir your spirit; to allow yourself to understand the depth of the message they convey.  This song holds the truth of what God’s mercy is and what it means for us.  We pray it blesses you.

My past embraced
My sin forgiven
I’m blameless in Your sight
My history rewritten

Cause You delight in showing mercy
And mercy triumphs over judgement
