Word & Worship – Be Still

Today we take time to reflect on a precious verse and a beautiful song.                                                               We call it Word & Worship.

God is God.  He is sovereign, in control and only has good things for us.  We need only to be still and surrender to His love.

Surrender seems like such a negative term.  One that can reflect that of defeat.  However, it’s quite the opposite when we’re surrendering our lives to the God of heaven and earth; the Creator of all things good.  We try so hard to control our own lives and circumstances, only for it to be in vain.  When left in our hands we repeatedly fail; but in His, all things flourish.  By giving Him control, we will experience all He has for us and we will give Him all the glory.

“Be still, and know that I am God! I will be honored by every nation. I will be honored throughout the world.”  ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭46:10‬

The word “still” in this verse is Hebrew, and means to “let go” or “release.”  This verse is telling us to release our lives to Him; to trust Him completely.

OUR WORSHIP for TODAY:  Be Still – Bethel & Steffany Frizzell Gretzinger

As you listen to today’s worship, allow yourself to stop.  Be still.  Let His sovereign presence wash over you and release any and everything you’ve been holding onto, into His hands.  Then encounter the fullness of WHO HE IS.

Be still my heart and know, You are God alone.               Stop thinking so much, And just let go.              Be still my soul and rest, Humbly I confess.       In my weakness, Your strength is perfect.
