WORD & WORSHIP

Today we are taking the day to reflect on a few precious verses and a fun song.  We’re calling it

 Word & Worship

Build Your House on The Rock

24 “Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock. 26 And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. 27 And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell, and great was the fall of it.”   Matthew 24:24-27

FOR OUR WORD TODAY: These verses are an encouragement Jesus gives us with insight into how to build our lives.

To be wise and build your house on the rock is to hear what Jesus says and obey.  To be foolish and build your house on the sand is to hear and ignore.

Try thinking like a contractor and take a few minutes to inspect your foundation.  If you have areas that need to be firmed up, the good news is Jesus is the firm foundation, our solid rock.  There is nothing He can’t handle…there’s no problem that is too big for Him!    He welcomes every area of our lives with open arms.

Tomorrow we will continue our series “Learning from Their Experiences” .  Our next lady to learn from is Rachel’s sister Leah.  Jacob had fallen in love with the beautiful Rachel and worked seven years for her father Laban, to earn Rachel’s hand in marriage.  BUT Laban tricked Jacob and substituted Leah in Rachel’s place on the wedding day, saying that tradition required the oldest daughter to marry first.  Next week we will look at Leah’s life and see what we can learn from her experiences.  ~ Breath on Paper
