In searching the scriptures and doing further research, I’ve found that a prophetic word is usually confirmed with a word of Knowledge and/or of Wisdom. For example: if someone receives a word of Knowlege (a circumstance one is facing), there’s going to be at least a word of Prophecy (an encouraging promise of what’s to come) or a word of Wisdom (an action of what to do in the meantime) to follow the word of Knowlege given.
My mind immediately recalls a prophecy I received about my daughter, that reflects this idea. For the last 5 years we’ve been standing in the circle believing for the completion of her healing in her mental development. You can click here if you want read more. Anyway, to date, her healing has been slow but steady and we’re beginning to see the light at the end of this long tunnel. We know it’s coming.
However, a couple years ago, when we were still expecting an overnight healing, it was tough staying encouraged. During this time, my friend, Cindy had taken myself and two others on a girls’ trip to stay with her sister in Daytona, FL. Every moment of that trip was blessed and has left a beloved imprint on my memory forever.
The first day we were in town, Cindy’s sister, Bobbie had arranged for us all to go to lunch with her pastor’s wife, Pastor Phyllis. I’d heard Cindy talk about the anointing on this lady and she’d even shared some of her messages with me to listen to. She was indeed anointed, and now we were about to have the honor of having lunch with her!
At lunch, Pastor Phyllis shared her testimony with us and how they planted Rock Church. It was nothing short of amazing, and until then I didn’t know how badly I needed to hear it. What I also didn’t know before that moment was that she operated in the gifts of Knowlege, Prophecy and Wisdom.
After sharing her testimony, she turned to each of us and began delivering a specific word to us individually. Sitting right beside her, I was first. She touched my arm, looked me in the eye and said, “You’re believing for healing for someone, aren’t you?” (Word of Knowledge)
The question caught me off guard and I went “stupid” for a second. I couldn’t pinpoint what she was talking about right then. There were plenty of people I was believing healing for. The first person that came to my mind was my grandmother to be healed of Alzheimer’s. Recent incidents regarding her were fresh on my mind. So I said, “Yes ma’am, my grandmother.”
She responded, “No. There’s someone else, isn’t there?” Still taken aback, I replied, “Well, yes ma’am. There are several.” She asked about my family and if I had children, their names and ages. “I have two children. Selah is 4, and my son, Emerson is—”
“Your daughter, Selah. That’s who you’re believing to be healed!” She interrupted. Chills ran down my body and tears threatened my eyes. “Yes, ma’am.” I could barely find my voice. How had I not thought of her? In that moment I realized that I had been praying for so long for her healing and without seeing significant improvement that I had unconsciously stopped expecting her to be healed.
This revelation was interrupted by what Pastor Phyllis said next, “God says He IS healing Selah and she WILL have a powerful testimony that will greatly impact the kingdom. You WILL see her healing manifest. He’s never late and He’s working on things you can’t see.” (Word of Prophecy)
Her words rang through my mind with such assurance and authority as she said, “Don’t waiver. Stand in your faith and do what He’s called you to do!” (Word of Wisdom)
I’m not certain of what else was said but from that moment on, I was processing the truth she had just resurrected in my heart. That was a word that only God could’ve given to this lady who knew nothing about me or my daughter, and He gave it in the very moment my faith needed reviving.
Prophecy is evidence of His love.
