“Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.” Psalm 51:10
As an interior designer and fashion stylist, I LOVE CHANGE! I don’t fear it and it fuels my soul! I crave the new, the latest, the undiscovered, and the cyclical vibe felt from décor and fashion! But, I have also been schooled in it (change) and trained by it through years of experience in my career. The thrill of it and the challenging requests of my clients have taught me how to dig deeper, think outside of the box, call on a team of talent, to pray for patience and calm, and to skillfully earn the necessary trust to accomplish the design goals. I am hired by the client to be their eyes and their safe hand to get them where they want to go visually…CHANGES they desire. I become an invested vessel to direct and correct through the long process of building and decision-making.
“….he shall be a vessel unto honor, sanctified, and meet for the master’s use, and prepared unto every good work.” 2 Timothy 2:21
“For he was looking forward to the city with foundations, whose architect and builder is God.” Hebrews 11:10
Through the years, I have learned to understand and SEE with spiritual eyes the good side of the artistic costumes of fashion and the dazzling client homes as a type of entertainment and secular possession that represent exciting and tantalizing “outward change”. This is a form of change that is seen as temporary visual beauty to stimulate the eye, to be breathe taking, and to leave you standing in AWE of what you see. But, as awesome as these outward changes are they are still only external temporary changes.
“We set our eyes not on what we see but on what we cannot see. What we see will last only a short time, but what we cannot see will last forever.” 2 Corinthians 4:18
Changed, in the spiritual format of the word, can only be claimed from an inner transformation of the heart, AN INWARD CHANGE of beauty. This type of change requires a crying out to Jesus, a surrendering of a sinful self, a realization of our inabilities, a fear of the danger we live in without a holy refuge, a release of an addicted deceitful heart, and the seeking of a safe escape route through a God encounter. So says the defeated sinner, “CHANGE me oh Lord so I can claim you as my Savior permanently CHANGED forever!” Amen
Jesus consumes us with His power and his strength, through the gift of The Holy Spirit, which is poured out in the form of courage to allow Him to change us. We are then born again and saved by The Blood of Jesus. His blood cleanses and changes us in a magnificent manner of mysterious saturation. He lavishes us in love and teaches through His word so we know the truth of what to expect and how to live a changed life. We will never be the same again! At the moment of divine settlement, we begin to live free for the first time and are invited to journey with Jesus through this life. We are made to be holy and are protected from the evil one from this change. Our inward change wills The Glory to God by shining outwardly for all to SEE! Acts 4:13….” they were astonished and took note that these men had been with Jesus.” We are a display of His splendor when we become PERFECTLY CHANGED! We are changed from the inside out by his LOVE and POWER that consumes us! Our changed hearts house the King Jesus Christ! – Beth
“You shall be perfect, therefore, as your Heavenly Father is perfect.” Matthew 5:8
“Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong.” Ephesians 3:17
