I Am a Princess

I believe many of us struggle to see ourselves as God sees us.

I know I do. Our perceptions and identity have been measured and labeled according to the world’s standards. It’s the you are not and you will never be words that have been spoken over us that can bring us to the point where we consider ourselves less than. Words matter, they definitely matter. I know I would rather take a beating then to hear again some of the words that have been spoken over me. I want to shut out the voices in this world that say you need to be, act, do, look, talk and walk this way. Let’s put off the identity given to us by the world and put on the identity given to us in Christ.

I am quite certain if there was a reality show, I am a Princess, I would never make it through the audition because I would not be identified as young, thin and beautiful according to Hollywood’s standards. God has a totally different view for, “The LORD does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.”   1 Samuel 16:7

A Princess is a daughter of a King. You and I are a Princess of the Most High King, where heaven is His throne and earth is His footstool. I am in awe that the God of the Universe would adopt me into His Royal Family. That He would send Jesus the Prince of Peace to die for me, so I could live to be a part of His Kingdom.  A Kingdom that will never end unlike this temporary world we live in now.

We live in a very dark chaotic world and as a Princess of the Most High King we are His ambassadors in this dark world. The Prince of Peace says to us, “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.”   Matthew 5:14  I have been a runaway Princess who so often has not let my light shine for the world. Who has been afraid that my light would be so small and insignificant that it would not matter. I believed the lies of the Prince of Darkness, and those lies held me captive. The Prince of Peace came to rescue me. For He came to, “bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners”.  Isaiah 61:1

As God’s Princess He wants us to see ourselves as He sees us, “For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago”.  Ephesians 2:10image

“I can hear the footsteps of my King
I can hear His heartbeat beckoning
In my darkness He has set me free
Now I hear the Spirit calling me

He’s calling
“Wake up child, it’s your time to shine
You were born for such a time as this”

I am royalty
I have destiny
I have been set free
I’m gonna change the world”
