My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand.
What an amazing story of a lost sheep and the Good Shepherd. I love how it illustrates the lost sheep knowing his master’s voice. What an example of the love our heavenly father has for us. Our God loves us enough to leave the herd and search for one who is lost.
Have you ever been in a situation where you felt you were lost? I have. And it is not a mountain I want to keep going around and around. At this stage in my life I was working as a substitute custodian at an elementary school. A fellow co-worker of mine, an older gentleman (who of course just happened to be a pastor) took me under his wing. He could sense something was not right and after several lengthy conversations I felt better. Although I felt better I still felt this weight on me. There was something missing. Something I did not understand. The next day he pulled me to the side and said he had a word for me and it literally was a word. God put on his heart for me the word: Trust.
I don’t know about you, but I thought there were certain parts of my life better left to me to handle and everything else God could handle. I was determined to dig a little deeper into this word: trust. I went home grabbed my bible and small piece of paper fell on the floor. What was on that piece of paper? The word: trust. Then I knew God was speaking to me.
God wanted all of me not just parts of me. I needed to trust him to the handle all things. God was not mad at me or punishing me. He was working in me. God never promised life would easy but now I am better equipped to handle what comes my way. I need God every minute of every day to navigate through life’s distractions. I need to keep my focus on him and I won’t go astray.
Your Turn: Have you put your trust in Him? Have you given him all of you? Are you going through a season in your life where you feel lost? Or are you now found? Share your story in the comment section below. I would love to pray for you or shout Amen.-Tonya
