As women we are all different. We all have our strengths and we all have are weaknesses. No one is going to experience life just as I have. I have something to share with the world and so does everyone else. I guess when it comes down to it that is what I took from each and every one of the women that I wrote about. Each of these women have such a tiny mention in scripture, but when we take the time to really get to know their story we see how God can use someone who seems easy to “look over” to minister to our hearts in a huge way.
It makes me think of the people that God has put in my life…be it a brief moment, or a season, or a lifetime. Am I looking over anyone…at work? In my ministry? In my family? Am I seeing what God wants me to see or am I seeing what I choose to see. I believe, for the most part, that birds of a feather flock together. Why? Because it’s easier to understand someone who thinks and acts in similar way. It’s human nature to look over what is different…..but God often uses what is different to show His glory.
So yes, as a woman of the church today, this is what I have learned from the first women of the church. No matter how broken a person might be. They have a story. They have something positive to contribute to my life. They might not know it, and my flesh might tell me that they have nothing that I need; however, that is a lie because each person has a story and a purpose. As Christain women we are called to call out the good in people. How can we call out the good, if we refuse to see the good?
