Breath Day

It takes breath to speak words.

 Genesis 1:3 ~ Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light…”

The Breath of God spoke the World into existence.

At Breath on Paper we believe memorizing scripture is the best way to get the Word of God in our heart.

Today we have chosen a beautiful verse to remind us to serve God well. Colossians 3:23-24   (Amplified Bible)

 Whatever you do [whatever your task may be], work from the soul [that is, put in your very best effort], as [something done] for the Lord and not for men,  knowing [with all certainty] that it is from the Lord [not from men] that you will receive the inheritance which is your [greatest] reward. It is the Lord Christ whom you [actually] serve.

Print the photo below and put it on your refrigerator, tape it to your bathroom mirror, post it over your computer at work, or save it as your lock screen on your phone.  Get it into your heart so you can breathe The Word.

Read the verse below.  Close your eyes and ask God how many times He wants you to write it.  Open your journal and write it exactly like He put it in the Bible for you and as many times as you heard Him say.  Now ask God what He wants to show you about this verse.   Write what you hear in your journal.  Let your head get out of the way and allow the words to flow through your pen.

Write from your heart.   ~   It’s Breath on Paper.

Your Turn:  How many times did you write the verse?  What did God speak to you through this verse? Encourage your sisters with a nugget from your journal.    Share your thoughts on our blog.  Leave a reply. ~ Breath on Paper

  1. This hymn came to mind as I was Journaling about todays verse. Give of your best to the Master.

    Give of your best to the Master;
    Give of the strength of your youth.
    Throw your soul’s fresh, glowing ardor
    Into the battle for truth.
    Jesus has set the example,
    Dauntless was He, young and brave.
    Give Him your loyal devotion;
    Give Him the best that you have.
    Refrain
    Give of your best to the Master;
    Give of the strength of your youth.
    Clad in salvation’s full armor,
    Join in the battle for truth.
    Give of your best to the Master;
    Give Him first place in your heart.
    Give Him first place in your service;
    Consecrate every part.
    Give, and to you will be given;
    God His beloved Son gave.
    Gratefully seeking to serve Him,
    Give Him the best that you have.
    Refrain
    Give of your best to the Master;
    Naught else is worthy His love.
    He gave Himself for your ransom,
    Gave up His glory above.
    Laid down His life without murmur,
    You from sin’s ruin to save.
    Give Him your heart’s adoration;
    Give Him the best that you have.
